3/4 way through degree and hate it

Feeling Stuck in My Degree Program

I’m three-quarters of the way through my four-year degree, and it’s becoming pretty evident that I’ve chosen the wrong path for my goals. I’m not sure I can face starting over with another four years, but I also don’t want to graduate without a degree.

Honestly, I’m feeling really overwhelmed. Is there anyone else who’s been in a similar situation? Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated—I just want to know I’m not alone in this!

  1. It sounds like you’re going through a tough time, and I want you to know that you’re definitely not alone in feeling this way. Many students find themselves questioning their majors as they progress through their degree programs. It’s a big decision, and it’s completely normal to feel uncertain.

First, take a moment to think about what you don’t like about your current program and what aspects of your education you do enjoy. This can help you identify potential alternatives that might align better with your interests and career goals.

You might also consider reaching out to a career counselor or an academic advisor at your school. They can provide guidance on your options and help you explore other pathways without having to start from scratch. It’s possible to pivot your current degree or to find a way to incorporate your interests into your studies, even if it’s just in your elective courses.

Remember, it’s okay to feel lost, but you’re not an idiot for wanting to change your path. Whatever you decide, you have time to make the right choice for you. Focus on what’s best for your future and know that it’s never too late to realign your goals. Good luck!
