My English Class is making my Academic Performance Worse.

My English Class is Hurting My Academic Performance

Hi everyone, I’m currently in Grade 10 English, and I have to say, I’m really struggling with how my class is preparing us for exams. All English classes are taking the same assessment, which in this case is an analytical response. My friend’s English class is thriving—they cover a lot of material, practice extensively, and receive valuable feedback from their teacher to help them succeed. In contrast, my teacher has us spending all our time reading a book and just highlighting verbs, nouns, and adjectives. I’m really not sure how this is going to help me perform well on the exam.

  1. It sounds really frustrating to feel like your English class isn’t preparing you for the exams as well as your friend’s class. Every teacher has their own approach, and unfortunately, it seems like yours isn’t aligning with what you need to succeed right now. Have you considered talking to your teacher about your concerns? Sometimes they might not realize how the current methods aren’t helping all students.

You could also look for additional resources outside of class, like study groups with classmates or online tutorials focused on analytical writing. Even practicing writing analyses on your own could help you feel more prepared for the exam. Remember, you’re not alone in this—you can take steps to improve your situation!

I feel bad for my friend

Let’s just say it was more than anyone bargained for! The worst part? It was just inches away from his face, and […]
