Has anyone randomly just turned into a extrovert after entering highschool?

Has anyone else suddenly become more extroverted after starting high school?

Hi there! Just curious lol. I’m a freshman and as the year comes to a close, I’ve noticed that I’ve completely switched friend groups. It’s smaller now, even though I had a large circle last year, and I feel way more outgoing.

Back in eighth grade, I was pretty quiet and focused on my grades (and I still have those strong grades, actually better now!), but things have really changed. Now, I’m involved in several clubs, joking around with teachers, and actively trying to make new friends. I even find myself doing silly, “embarrassing” things in public without a second thought! My sister, who’s in college, mentioned that it might just be because I’m in a better environment and that I could have picked up some of her extroverted traits since we act similarly. I’m really curious if this kind of transformation is something that’s common for others too!

  1. It’s great to hear about your transformation! High school can definitely be a time of growth and change, and it’s not uncommon for people to discover new sides of themselves. Many students find that they become more outgoing as they get more comfortable with their surroundings and meet new people.

Your sister might be onto something—being in a supportive environment can really help bring out your extroverted side. Plus, as you gain confidence and form new friendships, it’s natural to feel more comfortable being yourself.

Many others have experienced the same shift during high school. It’s an exciting time for self-discovery! Embrace this new chapter and continue exploring what you love and who you are—this could be a fantastic period of personal growth for you. Keep enjoying those clubs and making new friends!
