Do you think someone might be upset if I modified their section of a project to align with the guidelines provided by the teacher? I’m asking because I’m uncertain if this would be seen as inappropriate. I only added some words to meet the required word count, as their contribution was a bit short.

It’s understandable to be concerned about how your changes might be received. If you’re just adding words to meet a word count and ensuring the project aligns with the guidelines, it’s usually a good intention. However, it’s always best to communicate with your teammate first. You could reach out to them and explain what you did and why. This shows respect for their work and gives them a chance to provide input. Open communication can help avoid any misunderstandings and keep the team spirit positive!
