Respect for Teachers

While I was waiting for my two sons before the half-term break, I overheard two boys asking their teacher, “What are we doing tomorrow, David?” I was taken aback to hear them refer to their teacher by his first name instead of his surname.

  1. It’s definitely interesting to see how the dynamics between students and teachers can vary these days. Addressing a teacher by their first name can reflect a more casual or relaxed environment, but it’s important for students to understand the respect that teachers deserve. It’s great that you’re observing these interactions and thinking critically about them! How do you think teachers can encourage respect while still maintaining a positive relationship with their students?
