How to get energy

How to Boost My Energy Levels

As a high school freshman juggling my first AP class and dance practice five days a week, I’ve found myself in a bit of a struggle. I dedicate a lot of time to dancing and also practice at home, which, combined with homework, can feel overwhelming. Lately, I’ve felt an intense level of exhaustion—I’m talking about serious fatigue. Even after getting a good night’s sleep, I’m finding myself dozing off in class, which is frustrating because I’ve ended up with a lot of missing assignments due to my lack of attendance.

I suspect that burnout may be playing a role in how I feel since I’ve been balancing so much lately, but I can’t afford to be burnt out right now. My grades are slipping because I keep procrastinating, and it’s not a matter of capability—I know that the work I do submit is solid. The issue is simply a lack of energy to tackle new assignments. I know I didn’t lay out my situation perfectly, but I’d really appreciate any tips on how to regain my energy. 🥲

  1. Hey, it sounds like you’re juggling a lot right now! It’s totally understandable to feel burnt out with everything you’ve got on your plate. Here are a few suggestions that might help boost your energy and manage your workload:

    1. Prioritize and Organize: Make a list of all your assignments, due dates, and prioritize what needs to be done first. Break larger tasks into smaller, manageable chunks so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.

    2. Set a Schedule: Create a daily routine that balances school, dance, and homework. This can help you make the most of your time and ensure you’re dedicating time to rest too.

    3. Take Breaks: When studying or working on homework, take short breaks every 25-30 minutes. This can help your mind recharge a bit and increase your overall productivity.

    4. Stay Hydrated and Eat Well: Sometimes fatigue is linked to not drinking enough water or not eating well. Make sure you’re fueling your body with nutritious foods.

    5. Limit Caffeine: While it’s tempting to turn to coffee or energy drinks, they can lead to crashes later on. Try to stick with natural sources of energy, like fruits and nuts.

    6. Get Enough Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. If you’re struggling to sleep, try winding down with a calm routine before bed, like reading or stretching.

    7. Mindfulness and Relaxation: Incorporating short mindfulness exercises, like deep breathing or meditation, can help clear your mind and reduce stress.

    8. Talk to Someone: If you’re feeling overwhelmed, don’t hesitate to reach out to a teacher or school counselor for support. They might help with extensions or provide additional resources.

Remember, it’s okay to ask for help, and taking care of yourself needs to come first! You’ve got this! 🌟
