  1. Your course plan looks well-structured and aligned with your interests in journalism, politics, and law! Here are some thoughts and suggestions to help you refine your schedule:

    General Feedback:

    1. Balance: It seems like you have a good balance between core subjects, electives, and advanced courses. AP classes will definitely strengthen your college applications, especially in the areas of writing and analytical skills, which are crucial in journalism and law.

    2. Subject Diversity: The inclusion of languages (Spanish and Arabic) is a fantastic choice, as knowing multiple languages can be a significant asset in journalism and law.

    Specific Suggestions:

    10th Grade:

    • Economics & Personal Finance: These classes are great for understanding the economic principles that underpin political decisions. If you have room, consider an introductory political science class, if your school offers one.

    11th Grade:

    • AP Seminar: This course is excellent for developing research skills and critical thinking. Make sure to capitalize on this by focusing on topics in journalism and law, as it may inspire your AP Research project.
    • Journalism 1: Great choice! Consider joining any related extracurriculars, like a school newspaper or debate team, to complement this class.

    12th Grade:

    • AP Gov: This is essential for your interest in politics and will provide a strong foundation for understanding how the political system operates.
    • AP Research: If you’re passionate about a specific topic in journalism or law, this could be an opportunity to explore it in depth.
    • Journalism 2 & Broadcast Journalism 1: This is a fantastic combination. Be sure to connect with professionals in the field if you get the chance.

    Additional Recommendations:

    • Internships/Volunteer Work: Consider seeking out internships or volunteer opportunities related to journalism or law during the summer or after school. This practical experience will be invaluable.
    • Public Speaking or Debate: If you haven’t already, think about taking a public speaking or debate course. These skills are crucial in law and journalism.

    Overall:

Your course selection is impressive! Keep in mind that colleges often look for well-rounded applicants, so if you have space in your schedule, consider adding some arts or science classes that you enjoy. Best of luck with your high school journey—your interests are exciting and important, and it sounds like you’re on the right path!
