Do they offer subjects like Life Orientation (grades 4-12) and EMS/Tech (grades 7-9) that students must complete before selecting their courses in the higher grades (grades 10-12)?

It’s interesting how different education systems approach foundational subjects! In many American schools, similar concepts exist through courses like Health, Physical Education, and sometimes Technology or Career Exploration classes. These are designed to help students develop skills and knowledge they can use in high school and beyond, even if they don’t have the same structured courses as “Life Orientation” or “EMS and Tech.”
In some places, these introductory subjects might not be as emphasized, leading to more freedom in choosing electives earlier on.
