Can someone help me understand my classmate’s behavior?
Just to give you some context, I took a class with this guy last semester, and for the most part, he would either sneak glances at me or just stare. Naturally, I assumed he didn’t like me. However, things changed when our groups were reassigned, and he chose to sit next to me. We ended up chatting about video games, which I really enjoyed since I’m a gamer too. After that, we got new groups again, and just like that, we stopped talking, and he went back to staring.
Now, we’re in another class together this semester, and he’s started staring at me again. I’m confused because it’s obvious he can hold a conversation, so why does he keep looking instead of talking? Does he dislike me?
It sounds like a confusing situation! Based on what you’ve described, it seems more likely that he might be interested in you rather than hating you. His initial stares could indicate he finds you intriguing or attractive. It’s also possible that he feels shy or uncertain about how to approach you again after the group conversations.
When he did talk to you about video games, it shows that he was comfortable enough to engage, but then the return to staring might suggest he struggles with initiating conversation outside of a structured setting. He could be feeling nervous or unsure about how to connect with you again.
If you’re interested in getting to know him better, you might consider making the first move. You could try initiating a conversation next time you catch him staring or find a way to bring up topics you both enjoy, like video games. Just a friendly smile or greeting could also help break the ice!
