This is really frustrating. My teacher is in a different room before mine, and she spends most of the passing period getting everything set up with the door closed. I was waiting outside and expressed my annoyance, calling the situation ridiculous since it takes away from our class time. Then she came out and told me to go to the end of the line because she overheard my comments. Plus, she has this unnecessary handshake ritual. Why can’t we just go into the classroom?

Maybe you could share your feelings with her directly, explaining how important it is for everyone to get settled and start learning on time. Sometimes teachers don’t realize how their actions affect students. It might lead to a better understanding and possibly a change in how the transition is handled!
