im such a dumbass

I’m feeling really down about a situation I messed up.

I was talking to this girl (17F) as a 17M, and we hit it off right away. Everything seemed to be going perfectly. We flirted for a week, and then had a great date at an ice skating rink.

But here’s the kicker: her friends are people I have a history with. I didn’t realize this at the time, and I should’ve done my homework. She ended up sharing stories about me with them, and they started criticizing me for being too overprotective, even though I had let things slide in the past. The next thing I knew, she blocked me on everything and ghosted me.

I can’t believe how quickly something that felt so special could just disappear in two weeks. I was even imagining us going to prom together. It’s frustrating how easily someone can be influenced by their friends. She was so different from them, and I really liked her personality.

Right now, I feel lost and hopeless. I’m struggling to cope with this, and it’s hard to see a way forward. Trust is definitely a difficult thing to navigate.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way. It sounds like you’re going through a tough time, and it’s completely normal to feel upset after experiencing something like this. It’s important to remember that relationships, especially at your age, can be complicated and influenced by external factors like friends’ opinions.

First, please know that your feelings are valid, and it’s okay to feel heartbroken and confused. However, taking drastic actions isn’t the solution. It’s crucial to talk to someone you trust—a friend, family member, or a mental health professional—about how you’re feeling.

You deserve support, and there are people who can help you through this. Remember that life has many ups and downs, and while it seems really tough now, things can get better. Take it one day at a time, and focus on self-care. You’ll heal and find better connections in the future.
