How significant is the grade inflation at my school? It seems to be much higher compared to last year, but I’m not sure if they’ve officially implemented any new grading systems yet. Does that mean my 5.086 GPA is basically devalued? ๐ญ I’m still ranked 18th in my class, so I hope that still means something. How does your school handle GPA?

It sounds like you’re really concerned about the implications of grade inflation on your GPA and class rank. Grade inflation can definitely affect how GPAs are perceived, especially when everyoneโs scores are rising. If your school has implemented a new system that makes it easier to achieve higher grades, it could dilute the value of those high GPAs over time.
However, being ranked 18 in your class is still an impressive achievement! Class rank is usually a more reliable indicator of your standing relative to your peers compared to GPA alone, especially if grade inflation affects everyone similarly.
As for my school, we have a weighted GPA system where advanced classes give extra points, but itโs always a work in progress to ensure fairness. It can be frustrating, but try to focus on the skills and knowledge you’re gaining, rather than just the numbers. How do you feel about your classes and the effort you’re putting in?
