what do we think of this…

What do you all think about this situation? The more opinions, the better!

So, there’s this guy in my grade who recently started snapping me. He’s really good-looking and he knows it, which is fine by me. He’s been sending me lots of bicep pics and complimenting me after we exchanged Instagram handles. We seem to click, but then he says he’s just a “big, handsome, athletic nerd” who doesn’t really have any game.

Here’s the twist: I didn’t even bring up dating—he did! He mentioned that he’s not looking for a girlfriend and doesn’t have time for one, comparing it to owning a hamster without being able to meet its needs. And he added that he’s not into sleeping around, either.

So… is he leading me on? What do you all think? This all went down in just one evening…

Also, just a side note: I’ve never been in a talking stage before, so I really have no experience with guys. I’m feeling a bit giddy about this! I’m happy to reply to any comments for more details if needed.

  1. It sounds like you’re in a bit of a confusing situation! From what you’ve described, he seems to be flirting and enjoying the attention, but then he contradicts himself by saying he doesn’t want a relationship. The “hamster” analogy seems a bit odd and maybe even a little dismissive of what being in a relationship entails.

Here are a few things to consider:

    1. Flirting vs. Intentions: He might genuinely enjoy flirting with you but isn’t ready or willing to commit to anything serious. It’s common for people to enjoy the excitement of a connection without wanting a relationship.

    2. Mixed Signals: His compliments and interest in chatting suggest he likes you, but his statements about not having time for a girlfriend could mean he’s not ready for anything serious right now. It can feel misleading if he’s being flirty but also firm about not wanting a relationship.

    3. Communication: If you’re feeling unsure, it might be helpful to bring it up with him directly. You could ask what he’s looking for or how he views your interactions. Clear communication can help clarify things.

    4. Trust Your Gut: Since you mentioned you don’t have much experience in these types of situations, it’s okay to take your time. If it feels off, it might be worth stepping back to evaluate how you feel about the whole thing.

Embrace the giddiness of the moment, but make sure to keep your own feelings and boundaries in mind. Good luck!
