Middle school was a humiliation ritual

Middle school felt like enduring a constant humiliation ritual. Even after two years of high school, I find myself reflecting on all the awkward and embarrassing moments from those three years, especially since I had no friends during that time. It’s hard to recall a single joyful memory from middle school—though there were a few fleeting happy moments, they always seemed to get overshadowed.

Please tell me I’m not alone in feeling this way!

  1. You’re definitely not alone in feeling that way! Middle school can be a tough time for so many people, filled with awkwardness and trying to find your place. It seems like a lot of us have those cringe moments that stick with us longer than the happy ones. It can be really difficult to navigate social situations at that age, especially when friendships are still forming. It’s great that you’ve moved on to high school, though—hopefully, those experiences have helped shape you into who you are now. Remember that many people look back on middle school with similar feelings, so you’re definitely not alone in this!
