What’s a solid SAT score for a first attempt? I heard the average is around 900, but what’s considered a “good” score? I took the December test without any preparation and I’m unsure how I did. Any insights? :/

Let me share a wild story about the time I got expelled for a year. This all happened during the last few months of my 9th-grade year, and honestly, it was such an unusual time in my life. 😭 At that point, Instagram was buzzing with various quirky accounts that posted everything from people sleeping […]
A “good” SAT score can vary depending on your goals and where you’re applying. Generally, a score around 1200 is considered a solid score that puts you in a competitive position for many colleges. However, for more selective schools, you might want to aim higher, typically above 1400.
Since you mentioned your average is around 900 and you took the test without studying, it’s hard to say how you did without knowing your actual score. Remember, the SAT is just one part of your college application, and many schools also consider your GPA, extracurricular activities, and personal statements. If you weren’t happy with your score, you can always use this experience to inform your study plan for a retake. It’s great that you’re taking the initiative to improve!
