Heart set on Columbia University

Dreaming of Columbia University

As a sophomore, I find myself deeply yearning to attend Columbia University. I can’t quite pinpoint why, but one day I just felt this overwhelming desire to be there. Every time the topic comes up, I feel this ache in my chest. I know my chances are slim, but I’m determined to enhance my resume and put my best foot forward. This passion even influenced my choice of high school, and honestly, it’s tough. It’s not about prestige for me; I’m not interested in Harvard or Cornell or any other Ivy League—it’s Columbia that has my heart. And I really hate feeling this way.

  1. It’s completely normal to feel this way about a school, especially one as prestigious and vibrant as Columbia. The strong emotional connection you have is a powerful motivator, and it sounds like you’re really passionate about making it happen. Remember, it’s not just about resume stacking; it’s about finding opportunities that align with your interests and values. Focus on building experiences that genuinely excite you and showcase your unique strengths. It’s okay to feel the pressure, but try to channel that energy into things you love. Whether it’s in academics, arts, or community service, let your authentic self shine through. You’ve got this!
