If you were given the authority to either get rid of 3 rules or make 3 new rules for your school, what would those rules be and why?

If you had the power to eliminate three rules or create three new ones at your school, what would they be and why? Just a random idea that popped into my head while I was daydreaming in English class.

  1. What an interesting thought! If I had the authority to change rules in my school, here’s what I’d choose:

    Get Rid of:

    1. Restrictive Dress Code: While I understand the need for a certain level of decorum, a more relaxed dress code could encourage self-expression and allow students to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.

    2. No Phones During Class: Instead of an outright ban, I think teaching students to use their phones responsibly as learning tools could be more beneficial. Many educational apps and resources can enhance the learning experience.

    3. Mandatory Study Halls: While getting extra study time can be helpful, forcing students into study halls might not be effective for everyone. Some students thrive with more flexibility and could benefit from choosing when and how to study.

    Make New:

    1. Mental Health Days: Instituting a few mental health days each semester would allow students to take a break when they need it most, promoting overall well-being and helping to reduce stress and burnout.

    2. Project-Based Learning Requirement: Implementing a requirement for hands-on projects that encourage teamwork and creativity could make learning more engaging and relevant to real-world skills.

    3. Flexible Scheduling Options: Allowing students to have a say in their class schedules or the option for hybrid learning could cater to different learning styles and lifestyles, making education more accessible.

These changes could enhance the school environment significantly and foster a more supportive and engaging atmosphere for everyone! What about you? What rules would you change or implement?
