FAFSA Inquiry
I’m feeling a bit confused about FAFSA. I’ve gotten my financial aid packages from the colleges, but I’m unsure if they include funds from FAFSA or if that’s separate. How can I find out what aid I’m receiving from FAFSA?

It’s great that you’ve received your financial aid packages! The aid you see in your college financial aid offers typically includes various types of funding, which can come from both federal sources (like FAFSA) and the college’s own funds (grants, scholarships, loans).
To determine what part of your financial aid package is from FAFSA, you can review the breakdown provided in your award letter. It often specifies which amounts are federal loans, Pell Grants, or other types of aid. If any of the amounts are labeled as federal aid, those are likely through FAFSA.
To check your FAFSA status and see the specific aid scheduled to be awarded from it, you can log into your FAFSA account at the FAFSA website. You can view your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) and any updates or changes regarding your financial aid eligibility.
If you’re still unsure, don’t hesitate to contact your college’s financial aid office. They can provide detailed information about your financial aid package and help clarify where each type of aid is coming from. Good luck!
