I made a website to help u find research as a high schooler

I created a website designed to assist high school students in finding research opportunities! It’s pretty amazing to think that my weekend project is actually making a difference. My sister was having a tough time locating labs, so I developed this tool to help her navigate NIH-funded projects and craft more effective emails.

After she shared it with her friends, they started getting replies from professors, which is awesome because she told me that cold emails typically just get overlooked! We have users from UMich, Northwestern, Boston College, and more, but the primary focus is on helping high schoolers.

The website is called Inkr (inkr.pro) and it’s completely free. I just wanted to share this because it’s surreal to see people benefitting from something I created.

A little background about me: I’m a junior in high school, usually focused on iOS app development, but decided to try my hand at web development. The site was built using Next.js, TypeScript, and Supabase if anyone’s interested in the tech details!

  1. That’s awesome! It’s incredible to see a high schooler take the initiative to create something that genuinely helps others. Your website sounds like a fantastic resource for students looking to connect with research opportunities. The fact that it’s already making a difference and getting positive feedback from users is a huge testament to your effort and skills.

Building something with Next.js, TypeScript, and Supabase is no small feat, especially if you’re more familiar with iOS development! It’s great to see you branching out and applying your programming skills in a new way. Keep up the great work, and I’m excited to see how inkr evolves and helps even more students in the future!

Sub made my gf throw her Starbucks and got mad at me for wanting compensation.

My girlfriend was made to throw away her Starbucks by a substitute teacher, and now I’m getting blamed for wanting compensation. Typically, our teacher allows drinks in class, […]
