School has become overwhelming for me. As a freshman, I’m finding it increasingly difficult to cope. I experience stomachaches and headaches while I’m there, and I can’t seem to sleep at night because of the stress. Every morning, I feel close to tears. I’ve been advised to just tough it out for months, but that approach isn’t working anymore.
As someone with autism, I struggle in social situations and really need a quiet environment to thrive. The anxiety I feel around presentations and being called on in class is so intense that it makes me feel sick. On top of that, I often find myself bored, waiting for my classmates to catch up, and feeling overwhelmed by their constant requests for help.
I’m utterly exhausted and can’t handle another day in that building. What should I do?
