As an immigrant who began Grade 11 in Canada and is now in Grade 12, I’ve found myself in a unique situation. Since I was new to the educational system, I followed my counselor’s recommendations for my course load, and unfortunately, this meant I didn’t fulfill the prerequisites for post-secondary education. Currently, I’ve only completed courses at the Grade 11 level.
