Nova Scholar Patent Program – Has Anyone Been Interviewed?

Nova Scholar Patent Program – Interview Insights?

Hi everyone! I’m considering applying to the Nova Patent Program and noticed that an interview is a part of the application process. Has anyone experienced this?

I understand that the program involves small groups (about 3-4 people) collaborating to develop an idea into a mobile app and ultimately pursuing a patent. In terms of the interview, is it primarily focused on assessing experience, or do they expect applicants to come in with a well-defined idea?

I would really appreciate any insights from those who have gone through the interview process! Thank you!

  1. Hi there! I haven’t been through the Nova Scholar Patent Program myself, but I can share some insights based on what I’ve heard from others.

The interview seems to be more about assessing your passion for innovation and your willingness to collaborate than about having a fully formed idea. Many applicants have entered with just a concept or even just a general interest in the area, and that was well-received. They’re looking for creativity, teamwork, and potential rather than a polished project right from the start.

That said, it could definitely help to have a few ideas in mind or some understanding of the patent process, as that shows your commitment. Engaging in discussions about technology trends or your interests in patentable ideas can also demonstrate your enthusiasm.

If you decide to go for it, be prepared to discuss what fascinates you about patent law and app development. Good luck!
