I hate my skin

Struggling with My Skin

I may be exaggerating a bit with the title—deep down I appreciate my skin and would definitely prefer it over not having it (I’d literally be in trouble without it).

What’s really frustrating is that my face can’t seem to decide what it wants to do. Lately, I’ve been dealing with terrible acne, particularly below my lip, and it’s starting to leave scars. After mentioning this to my mom, we picked out a new face wash. It worked… for about a day and a half.

Then, the night after I started using it, my skin erupted in a burning sensation that felt like it was on fire. My first thought was that I must be allergic, so I took some Benadryl.

Things got worse from there. My skin began to peel, exposing raw patches that were incredibly painful and itchy, especially around the corners of my eyes. This went on for a while until I had to miss school due to pink eye, a fever, and the constant tears from the pain (which only added to the discomfort).

Now I’m back in school, although my face is still peeling, and it looks like I’ve accidentally applied blush to the corners of my eyes. I’m here only because I’ve already missed a week of classes.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that you’re going through such a tough time with your skin. It sounds incredibly frustrating and painful, especially when you’re dealing with acne and the allergic reactions on top of it all. It’s completely understandable to feel upset when your skin seems so unpredictable and is causing you discomfort.

It’s great that you’re reaching out and sharing your experience. It can be really helpful to talk about what you’re going through, even if it feels overwhelming. Have you had a chance to consult with a dermatologist? They might be able to provide some insights or treatments that could help with the irritation and scarring. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to lean on your friends and family for support, and remember to be gentle with yourself during this difficult time. You’re not alone in this, and there are ways to find relief and healing. Take care!
