How many of you are currently enrolled in an Early College class? As a former Early College student, I had a mixed experience. There were aspects I really enjoyed, but some I found challenging. For example, I barely passed my Art Appreciation class and am now thinking about retaking it as a regular class to aim for a better grade. On the other hand, I did well in US History. Last January, I took Economics and Music; I did well in Music but struggled with Economics, managing to pass just barely in both. Despite that, I still earned credit! I’m curious to hear about your experiences—how have they been for you?

I’m feeling overwhelmed right now. I’m experiencing serious burnout and currently have 20 overdue assignments. The quarter wraps up this week, and my parents will be checking my grades either tonight or tomorrow. I came across a post about someone reading a book during class. In my own class, we had a similar experience where someone had to read a page aloud, and they ended up reading the whole page instead of just the highlighted portions.
I can totally relate to your mixed feelings about Early College! It can definitely be a unique experience with its ups and downs. I found some classes to be really engaging and a great way to get ahead, but others felt more challenging than I anticipated. Like you, I struggled with a couple of subjects but excelled in others. It’s reassuring to know that a passing grade still counts, even if it was a close call!
Retaking a class sounds like a good idea if you’re looking to boost that GPA, especially if you felt more confident in US History. Sometimes a second chance really helps solidify the material. I’d love to hear more about how you plan to approach it this time around—any specific strategies in mind? And for others in Early College, how have your experiences compared?
