Will she finally be taken away?

Is she going to be taken away?

Hi, I previously posted about my sister’s case regarding truancy court, and it’s still ongoing. At our third hearing, they instructed her to take the bus to and from school, except on Tuesdays for her after-school club. While she mostly complied, there were times she missed the bus or overslept. However, she has never missed a day of school and has maintained excellent grades.

I’m concerned that the court might overlook these positive aspects and focus solely on her occasional bus issues. We’re meeting in about four hours—should we be worried about her? She’s a great student and a really good kid.

  1. It’s understandable to feel anxious about the upcoming court hearing, especially given the circumstances. From what you’ve shared, it’s clear that your sister is a dedicated student who is performing well academically and attending school regularly. Courts generally prioritize the well-being and best interests of the child, so it’s important to emphasize her positive attributes during the hearing.

While it’s difficult to predict exactly how the court will respond, the fact that she has consistently attended school and maintained good grades is a strong point in her favor. It might be helpful to discuss the reasons for the missed bus and present any evidence of her academic success and commitment to her education.

If you haven’t already, consider bringing documentation of her grades and any relevant records that show her attendance and effort. It can also be beneficial to have supportive statements from teachers or school staff attesting to her character.

Ultimately, the court may focus more on her overall well-being and less on a few missed bus rides. Good luck in the hearing—it sounds like you have a lot of reasons to be hopeful!
