Does anyone know about any summer programs/camps for 12 graders ?

Hello everyone!

I’m a 12th-grade exchange student seeking summer programs or camps focused on medicine or science in the Houston area. I’ve looked online, but many options were either outside my budget or had already closed their application periods. If anyone has recommendations or knows of any available programs, I would greatly appreciate your help! Thank you!

  1. Hi there! It can be challenging to find summer programs, especially on a budget. Here are a few suggestions that might help you find opportunities in medicine and science near Houston:

    1. Baylor College of Medicine: Check if they offer any summer programs for high school students. They sometimes have courses or camps that focus on medical science.

    2. UTHealth School of Public Health: They may have summer programs or workshops that would suit your interests in medicine and science.

    3. University of Houston: Look into the summer camps or programs they offer for high school students. They may have some related to science or health fields.

    4. Local Community Colleges: Some community colleges host summer programs or workshops at a lower cost. Check with Houston Community College or other local options.

    5. STEM Camps: Websites like STEM Camps or other local camp directories might feature programs that align with your interests.

    6. Volunteer Opportunities: While not a camp, volunteering at a local hospital or clinic can provide valuable experience in medicine.

    7. Online Programs: If you’re open to virtual options, there are many online summer programs in science and medicine that may fit your needs and budget.

Lastly, consider reaching out to school counselors or local community organizations; they might have information on opportunities that aren’t widely advertised. Good luck!
