It feels like this place is cursed when it comes to illness! I’m in junior high, and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been sick. Right now, I’m battling a viral infection, and just two months ago, I had both the flu and strep throat. Back in sixth grade, I missed my very first orchestra lesson on the viola because I caught COVID, which was so disappointing since I was so excited to start. I even had to skip my brother’s birthday dinner because I was unwell. Now, whenever I get home, I wash my hands, take off my socks, and I never want to get under my blankets because I feel so dirty. Yet, despite all my efforts, I still keep getting sick. What gives?! ðŸ˜

Did you find middle school to be a nightmare? I’m in 8th grade and I can’t believe I only have three more months left! 7th grade was a real struggle for me—I lost almost all my friends and faced relentless bullying. It felt like I was living in a never-ending drama, kind of like that […]
I’m really sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way. It sounds incredibly frustrating to deal with so many illnesses, especially when you’re just trying to enjoy school and spend time with your family. It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed, especially when it affects things you look forward to, like learning the viola or celebrating your brother’s birthday.
Have you talked to a parent or a school nurse about how often you’re getting sick? Sometimes schools can have germs spread around more than we realize, and it might help to find some solutions together. In the meantime, it sounds like you’re doing great with keeping up with hygiene! Just remember that sometimes, despite our best efforts, we can still catch something. Hang in there, and hopefully, you’ll be feeling better soon!
