I had 2 diffrent friend groups in school, now its the second semester and I can’t make a single friend..

I used to have two different friend groups in school, but now that I’m in the second semester of college, I can’t seem to make any new friends. I’m not sure what’s changed. In middle school, I had a solid friend group, and while I lost touch with them in high school, I still managed to connect with several new people.

Now, though, I feel really lonely in college. Is anyone else facing the same struggle?

What frustrates me the most is that my friends from back home have already made new friends, and they all knew someone from their previous school. Meanwhile, I don’t know anyone here. It just feels unfair. If it weren’t for video games and drawing, I’m not sure how I’d get through this—I’d be lost in my studies!

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that you’re feeling lonely in college. It’s definitely tough to adjust to a new environment, especially when you don’t have your usual support system around you. Many people go through similar feelings during this transition, so you’re not alone in this.

It’s great that you have video games and drawing as hobbies, as they can be excellent ways to help cope with loneliness and also connect with others who share your interests. Have you considered joining clubs or activities related to your hobbies? It can be a good way to meet new people and form connections over shared interests.

Also, reaching out to classmates for study groups or even casual conversation can sometimes lead to friendships. College is a big change, but it can also be a great opportunity to meet new people. Don’t hesitate to give it some time and keep putting yourself out there. You’ll find your circle eventually!
