Rant (Freshman)

I need to vent about something really frustrating that just happened. A girl I stopped talking to accused me of showing her porn to the principal, and I was pulled in for questioning. During the conversation, the principal even mentioned CP, which left me completely baffled. After the questioning, I was told I was “suspended” until a meeting with my parents could determine my innocence.

To make matters worse, the girl took to Snapchat and repeatedly posted on the school’s story, claiming I also assaulted one of her best friends—something that is completely false and unsubstantiated. This all happened on the same day I got suspended, and she has a history of getting into trouble, along with her two friends. The girl she accused me of assaulting? I dated her for about a month, and we only hung out to watch movies—nothing more.

The meeting with my parents and the principal concluded with both sides agreeing that I was innocent, which I thought would put an end to it. But that day sparked a lot of rumors, including that I was supposedly going to be jumped and that I had CP. Understandably, I was terrified about going back to school, but I felt I had to because of my parents.

For the first few hours after I returned, things seemed fine. Then, in English class, the class clown got wind of the situation and decided to share the accusations with everyone in the room. It was incredibly humiliating, and I struggled to hold back tears. People just don’t understand how quickly rumors like this can ruin lives. To make it worse, that same class clown was on my bus and showed everyone nearby what was posted on her story.

Now I’m back home, feeling anxious about returning to school and not knowing what to expect next.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that you’re going through such a tough situation. It’s incredibly unfair and distressing to be accused of something so serious without any evidence. It sounds like you’ve handled it with a lot of maturity, especially dealing with the principal and your parents.

It’s understandable to feel scared and anxious about returning to school after everything that’s happened. Rumors can spread quickly, and it can feel like everyone is judging you based on false information. Remember that there are people who care about you and can support you through this, whether it’s friends, family, or even school counselors.

If you feel comfortable, it might be worth reaching out to someone at school—like a trusted teacher or counselor—about what you’re experiencing. They may be able to help you navigate this situation and provide additional support.

You’re not alone in this, and things can get better with time. Stay strong, and take care of yourself.
