Is it acceptable to be unemployed while in college?
I want to clarify that my college expenses are fully covered by student aid grants, so I won’t have to deal with student loans. I attend classes daily, just like in high school, and I maintain good grades. However, some people around me believe I should be working. I understand the advantages of employment, but I’m not just idle—I’m actively helping out at home, commuting to school, and I also work with my dad about once a month, earning a decent wage for that single day of work.
Should I pursue a job? I’m uncertain if it would impact my academic performance. Recently, someone even called me lazy for not having a job.
