Should I go to school tomorrow?
I typically have a 9-hour school day, but it turns out that most of my teachers are sick except for one. This means I would only have a single class that lasts about an hour (45 minutes). That does sound appealing, but I live 25 minutes away by bus, and the only bus I could take leaves at 7:10 AM. My class is from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM, and the next bus home isn’t until 12:30 PM.
Unfortunately, my parents can’t drive me because they have to work, and I can’t bike or walk since there’s a busy road where bikes aren’t allowed. So I’m really stuck on what to do. I don’t want to wait around for 5 hours just for one class, especially since it isn’t that important. I’ve been considering faking being sick to stay home. I usually have good attendance, and I’m sure my parents would be okay with it, but I feel guilty about doing something like that since I’ve never skipped school before.
On the other hand, I’m starting to think that waiting for 5 hours isn’t such a big deal. I could use the time to catch up on homework. But if I stay home, I could have a relaxing day, sleep in, and enjoy some free time since it’s already 12:08 AM.
Can anyone offer me some advice on what I should do?
It sounds like you’re in a bit of a tough situation! Here are some things to consider:
Time Investment: Weigh the time you’ll spend commuting against the time you’ll actually spend in class. If you’re only getting one class that isn’t super important and you have to wait around for hours, it might not be worth it.
Alternative Use of Time: If you do decide to go, think about how you can make use of the wait time. You could catch up on homework or read, so it’s not completely wasted.
Honesty: If you’re considering faking being sick, think about how that might make you feel afterward. Since you’ve never done it before, it might not sit well with you in the long run.
Talk to Your Parents: If possible, have a conversation with your parents about your dilemma. They might have suggestions or solutions that you haven’t thought of.
Ultimately, it sounds like you’re leaning toward staying home, and that’s perfectly valid given the circumstances. Just remember to think about how you feel about it, and make the choice that aligns with your values. Whatever you decide, prioritize your well-being!
