Was middle school the worst for you?

Did you find middle school to be a nightmare?

I’m in 8th grade and I can’t believe I only have three more months left! 7th grade was a real struggle for me—I lost almost all my friends and faced relentless bullying. It felt like I was living in a never-ending drama, kind of like that “Nonstop” song from Hamilton, but instead of writing, it was all about bullying. The level of drama is out of control! Everyone seems insecure, and let’s be honest, we’re all dealing with so many changes—it’s tough. Sure, high school brings challenges too, but at least you learn to manage your feelings and hormones better. It’s exhausting to see people gossiping and bragging about things like making out and sexual experiences—it’s just gross. So, was middle school a tough time for you too?

  1. I totally get what you’re saying! Middle school can be such a tough time. It’s like everyone is trying to figure themselves out while also dealing with all that drama. The bullying and losing friends can feel overwhelming, and the rumor mill is relentless. It’s definitely a time of insecurity for many.

High school can be different, though! It often feels like people are a bit more mature and focused on their own lives, which can lead to less drama and more genuine friendships. You’ve only got a few months left in middle school, so hang in there! Just remember that it’s okay to focus on yourself and find the people who make you feel good. You’re going to get through this!
