I met with the school counselor today, but it seems she forgot to send my smartpass. Now I’m worried about the consequences. What should I do?

Struggling with not being named valedictorian I found out yesterday that I won’t be graduating as valedictorian, which has been a shock to my entire family who believed it was a sure thing. Is senior year really that crucial? I currently have a 3.6 unweighted GPA and a 4.15 weighted GPA, and I’m eager to boost those numbers further before submitting my college applications. It sounds like a tough situation, but don’t worry too much! First, try talking to your teacher about what happened. Explain that you visited the school counselor and didn’t receive a smartpass. Most teachers understand that things happen and might be willing to overlook it this time.
If you can, try to get a message or confirmation from the counselor that you were indeed in her office. It might help your case. Moving forward, you could also try to remind the counselor or ask for the smartpass before leaving her office next time. Good luck, and remember that it happens to everyone at some point!
