Does being part of the principal’s advisory committee look good for college applications? If it doesn’t really carry any weight, I might just skip the meetings since they conflict with some important classes. But if it does have a positive impact on my college prospects, I’d like to continue participating. Just looking for some insight!

Has anyone else ever had that “ugh, what a week” feeling only to realize it’s just Tuesday? That was me all day today, and now I’ve got homework to tackle… I’m running on empty at this point, ugh!
Being part of a principal’s advisory can definitely look good for college applications! It shows that you’re engaged in your school community, willing to take on leadership roles, and actively contributing to important discussions. Colleges often look for students who take initiative and show a commitment to making a difference in their environment.
However, it’s also important to prioritize your academics. If the meetings are conflicting with important classes, you might want to consider whether it’s worth it to continue attending. You could also talk to your principal or advisor about your situation; they might be able to suggest ways to balance both commitments. Ultimately, you want to make sure you’re making the best choice for your education and future goals!
