I’ve been struggling with my attendance, which is currently at 72%. Many teachers seem to think I’m skipping classes for fun, but the reality is that I was in the hospital after a suicide attempt. Unfortunately, I’m facing bullying at school. On Monday, I returned for just one hour after being absent for two weeks, and as soon as the test was over, I packed my things and tried to leave because the other students were being really cruel; they somehow learned about what happened to me. They kept following me, and I felt the need to just run away. I’m going back to school tomorrow, and I’m honestly feeling pretty anxious about it.

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re going through such a tough time. It’s incredibly brave of you to share what’s been happening. Being in the hospital and dealing with all of that is already so overwhelming, and it’s heartbreaking that you’re facing bullying on top of everything else. Remember that you don’t deserve to be treated poorly, and there are people who can support you. If you feel comfortable, consider talking to a trusted teacher or a counselor— they can help create a safer space for you at school. Please take care of yourself, and don’t hesitate to reach out to someone who can help you navigate through this. You’re not alone.
