i think i have the worst school schedule known to man

I think I might have the worst school schedule ever!

Hey everyone, I wake up at 5:30 AM, leave for school by 6:10 AM, and don’t get home until 4 PM—six days a week! I usually get back around 5 PM because of carpools, yet I still manage to keep a B+ average with grades like 18/20 on my report card. Thankfully, we have Fridays off, and on Thursdays, we get to leave class early at 1 PM—although the school tries to pressure us into staying to help out. No thanks, not happening!

Studying is not my thing at all. School has made me gain weight because I literally have no free time. I come home at 5 PM, crash for a nap until 6 PM (I can’t resist!), shower from 6 to 6:30 PM, grab a bite to eat until 7 PM, do homework until 8 PM, take a break for gaming from 9 to 10 PM, and finally study from 10 PM to midnight. This is just too much, and I can’t do anything to change it!

On top of that, there’s this ridiculous rule in our country about not eating during a specific month, but I still bring food to school because there’s no way I can get through an entire day without eating. They keep us until 4 PM and won’t even let us eat? What is up with that?! Sorry for the rant, but I’m just really overwhelmed. I’m 13 and in 7th grade (the grading system is different here).

  1. It sounds like you’re really going through a tough time with that schedule! Waking up that early and being in school for so long each day must be exhausting. It’s impressive that you’re managing to keep up your grades despite everything going on. Balancing school, homework, and some downtime is so important for your mental and physical health.

Have you considered talking to a teacher or counselor about how overwhelming it feels? They might be able to suggest some strategies or resources to help lighten the load. And I totally get how frustrating those rules about food can be—it’s tough to focus on school when you’re hungry!

Finding time to take care of yourself is important. Even a little bit of movement or a quick chat with friends can help break up the routine. Remember, you’re doing your best, and it’s okay to ask for support when you need it!
