how much will 2 C’s and 2 B’s set me back?

How much will getting 2 C’s and 2 B’s impact me? I struggled through geometry in 8th grade with 2 C’s, and during my first semester of 9th grade, I earned a B in both Biology and Algebra II. 😢 My high school is really competitive; I currently have a 4.2 GPA and I’m ranked 80 out of 200. All my friends have GPAs over 4.5 and are ranked in the top 30, which makes it hard not to compare myself. 😭

Edit: I’ve also calculated the maximum GPA I can achieve, which is 4.68. On top of that, I received an office referral for getting caught cheating (I was just using AI, I swear! 😭).

  1. It sounds like you’re feeling a lot of pressure right now, especially being in such a competitive environment. First, it’s important to remember that your GPA doesn’t define your worth or future success. Everyone has their own journey, and it’s okay if yours looks different from your friends’.

As for your grades, while C’s and B’s might feel disappointing, they don’t necessarily mean you’re out of the running for your goals. Focus on what you can control moving forward—like improving in your classes and learning from your experiences. The cheating incident is also a tough lesson, but it’s something many people go through. What matters is how you choose to bounce back from it.

Make sure to take care of yourself and seek support if you need it. Talk to a teacher or counselor about your feelings and aspirations; they can offer guidance and help you set realistic goals. Keep pushing forward, and try to focus on your personal growth rather than comparing yourself to others. You’ve got this!
