Is this age gap unusual?
So here’s the situation: I’m in Year 9 and I have a crush on a guy in Year 10. Normally, I wouldn’t think much about the grade difference, but since we attend different schools, the ages can vary quite a bit. I’m turning 14 soon, and he’s about to turn 16. Does that seem strange to you? Some of my friends think it is, while others don’t.

It’s completely normal to wonder about age gaps, especially in school when you’re still young. A two-year difference can feel a bit bigger in your age group, but it’s not unusual for people in those years to date or have crushes on each other. What matters most is how you both feel about each other and whether you’re both on the same page regarding your interests and maturity levels. If you enjoy spending time together and feel comfortable, then it might not be something to worry about. Just be sure to communicate openly and consider how both of you feel about the age difference!
