Nova Scholar Patent Program – Has Anyone Been Interviewed?

Nova Scholar Patent Program – Any Interview Experiences?
Hi everyone! I’m considering applying to the Nova Patent Program and noticed that there’s an interview involved. Has anyone experienced this process?

I understand that the program operates in small groups (about 3-4 participants) as you progress from brainstorming ideas to developing a mobile app and eventually pursuing a patent. In the interview, are they mainly assessing your background, or do they expect you to present a fully developed idea?

I’d appreciate any insights from those who have gone through it! Thank you!

  1. Hey! I went through the Nova Scholar Patent Program interview a few months ago, so I can share my experience. The interview format was pretty relaxed, and they mainly focused on assessing our interest in the program and how well we could collaborate in a group setting. You don’t need to have a fully fleshed-out idea; they actually appreciate when applicants come with just a concept or even an area of interest they’re passionate about.

They want to see your enthusiasm for innovation and problem-solving more than a polished pitch. I would recommend thinking about potential ideas or fields you’re passionate about, but it’s totally fine if you haven’t narrowed it down yet. The team is there to guide you through the ideation process once you’re in!

Overall, focus on conveying your willingness to learn and work with others. Good luck with your application!

Someone sprayed bear spray in our music class! We all started coughing uncontrollably and had to quickly move to another room 💀. Honestly, this school feels like a prison sometimes!
