PE Update

I just discovered something really important, and I need to share it!

My PE teacher is pretty unpopular at our school—she’s quite harsh, and it feels like she’s been singling me out.

Recently, during class, I was on my period and asked if I could skip the two laps around the gym. We were required to run, but she insisted that exercising on your period is beneficial. However, running definitely isn’t! I only managed to run one lap, and before that, we had to do a back-and-forth routine that mixed jogging with other movements. One of those was karaoke, and I chose not to participate because I’m pretty clumsy. I did jog, but she still got upset with me, even though several others were also opting out.

The day before, I had an accident where a football hit me in the back of the head. She checked on me afterward and seemed nice about it. But when I needed a moment to collect myself, she insisted I get back up—even as I was on the verge of tears. When I tried to send an email to my mom on my Chromebook to let her know what was happening, she got angry since Chromebooks aren’t allowed in PE. Still, my mom deserved to be informed right away!

When she called me over again, I explained, “I just got hit in the back of the head with a football. What do you want me to do?” She questioned why I was acting out, but I could barely express myself—I was fighting back tears!

I genuinely cannot stand her.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear what you’ve been going through in PE. It sounds incredibly frustrating and unfair. It’s tough when a teacher doesn’t seem to consider what students are feeling, especially when dealing with something like your period or an injury. It’s understandable that you needed some time to calm down, and wanting to reach out to your mom seems completely reasonable.

If you’re comfortable, it might help to talk to someone about this, like a school counselor or another teacher you trust. They could provide support and address your concerns about how things are handled in that class. Remember, you deserve to feel safe and supported at school. It’s okay to stand up for yourself and seek help when you need it!

These are the same people who often make jokes about my weight; I’m 5’11” and weigh around 65 kg. It’s been really hurtful. If […]
