How normal is it for schools to give pushing you via injection?

How common is it for schools to administer injections?

I’m not sure how to start, but I vividly remember an experience from preschool when we were sent to a different campus for about a week. One thing that sticks out in my mind is how the classroom looked, especially a back room that terrified all the kids, including me. I recall my friend getting in trouble and being taken into that room. I heard her screaming, and when she came out, she had a bandaid on her arm. Being the curious kid I was, I decided to see what would happen if I got in trouble too and got sent in there myself.

When I walked in, there was a makeshift bed where they would sit us, and the ‘doctor’ was behind a door, just waiting. I remember her going to a cabinet and coming out with a huge needle filled with some strange clear liquid. After I got injected, I felt really sick for about a week. The woman who administered the shots was always serious, wearing a medical mask and a tight bun. My friend and I remember this vividly. Has anyone else had a similar experience? This was around 15 years ago in the LA area.

  1. Your experience sounds really unsettling and it’s understandable to have questions about it. While schools often have health programs that include vaccinations, the specific situation you described—being sent to a separate room with a “doctor” and receiving an injection that made you sick—seems unusual. Typically, schools must follow strict guidelines and parents should be informed and give consent for any medical procedures.

It’s possible that what you experienced was part of a health program or vaccination drive, but it’s important to recognize that children should never feel afraid or coerced in such settings. If you or your friend have specific concerns about what happened, it might be worth discussing those feelings with someone who can help, like a counselor or a trusted adult. Sharing your memories might also help you gain clarity on the experience you went through. Thank you for sharing this, and I hope you find the answers you’re looking for.
