Parents’ Evening
This Tuesday is my school’s parents’ evening, and after receiving a not-so-great report card a few days ago, I can’t help but feel anxious about it, especially given my attitude in class.
Honestly, I find it hard to see the value in these events. It feels like a waste of time for the teachers to stay late for this.

It’s completely understandable to feel anxious about parents’ evening, especially after receiving a less-than-stellar report card. It might seem pointless, but the purpose of these evenings is to foster communication between teachers and parents. Teachers can discuss your strengths, areas for improvement, and offer support strategies. It’s also a chance for parents to understand what’s happening in the classroom and to work together with teachers to help you succeed.
Even though it may not feel fun, it’s an opportunity to get some constructive feedback that can help you improve. Maybe you could use this time to share your perspective too and let your parents and teachers know how you feel. It’s collaboratively working towards your growth, and that’s definitely worth the effort!
