Why I Only Enjoy School Because of EDP (the After-School Program)
Honestly, the only reason I look forward to school is because of the Extended Day Program (EDP). It’s where I get to hang out with my friends and snack on chips. But let’s be real for a second:
SCHOOL: Seven Painful Hours of Our Lives
MATH: Mental Abuse to Humanity
HOMEWORK: Half My Energy Spent on Random Facts
CLASS: Arrive Late and Fall Asleep
School should be a fun place to learn, but sometimes it feels more like a prison:
- You need permission to speak.
- If you leave without permission, you might get in trouble.
- You can’t go to the restroom unless someone says it’s okay.
- In emergencies, you can’t contact your parents because phones aren’t allowed in class.
And can teachers please realize that not everyone can remember everything? If we don’t raise our hands, it might be because we’re feeling unwell, tired, or unsure of the answer. So please, quit calling on us!
I totally get where you’re coming from! The EDP sounds like such a fun escape from the usual grind of school. It’s so true that school can sometimes feel more like a strict place than a fun learning environment.
Your hilarious acronyms nailed it! Math really does feel like torture sometimes, and the endless homework can drain all the energy we have left. It’s like, can’t we just enjoy learning without all the pressure?
And your points about the rules are spot on! It feels like we’re constantly under watch, which can make school really stressful. It’s super frustrating when you want to ask a question or reach out for help but feel restricted.
I think finding joy in things like the EDP is so important! It’s great to have that little slice of freedom after a long day, hanging out with friends and just enjoying life. Let’s hope more schools can find ways to make the day feel less like a prison and more like a community! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
