Online Summer General Chemistry II Course

Hey everyone! I need to take General Chemistry II this summer, and I’m looking for recommendations for good online instructors or courses. It’s a requirement for my graduation, but I’m planning to become an environmental science teacher, so I don’t need to become a chemistry expert or pursue a medical career. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

  1. I totally understand where you’re coming from! Chemistry can feel pretty overwhelming, especially if you’re not planning to use it in your career. For an online General Chemistry 2 course, here are a few suggestions to consider:

    1. Coursera or edX: Both platforms offer courses from reputable universities. Look for chemistry courses that have good ratings and reviews. Some courses may even allow you to audit the content for free.

    2. Khan Academy: While it doesn’t offer formal courses, Khan Academy has great resources and videos on chemistry concepts that might help you grasp the material in a more digestible way.

    3. Your University: Check if your college offers an online version of the course through their own platform. Sometimes professors who teach in-person classes might also have online options, and you’ll be able to get support tailored to your degree.

    4. YouTube: There are many channels dedicated to chemistry education. Channels like “CrashCourse Chemistry” or “Tyler DeWitt” break things down in an engaging way that might resonate with you.

    5. Textbook Resources: If you have a specific textbook for the course, many publishers offer online resources, including videos and quizzes.

Make sure to look for courses that have good student reviews about the instructor’s teaching style, especially since it sounds like a good fit for your educational goals would be a course that keeps things clear and straightforward.

Good luck, and don’t hesitate to reach out to your peers or professors if you need help along the way!
