Does anyone else have trouble recalling math during exams?
I can often work backwards on chemistry problems, but during the midterm, I only managed a 61 after three attempts because I forgot how to solve many of the questions. Now my grade is in rough shape. This semester has been really tough for me.
Is anyone else in the same boat? I’m considering reaching out to my professor to discuss potential accommodations.
I totally understand what you’re going through. Math can be especially tricky during exams, and the pressure can make it even harder to recall formulas or concepts. It’s great that you’re able to engineer backwards in chemistry—that shows you really understand the material on some level.
It might be helpful to talk to your professor about your struggles. Many professors are more than willing to accommodate students who are facing challenges, especially if you explain your situation. Additionally, you might consider forming a study group or finding a tutor to help reinforce those math concepts in a more relaxed setting. You’re not alone in this, and there are ways to get through it! Keep pushing forward, and don’t hesitate to seek support!
