Purchasing e-access codes?

Looking to buy e-access codes?
I’m not sure if I’m posting in the right subreddit, but I’m hoping to find out if I can buy an e-access code for a textbook published by Oxford University Press. When I check their website, it appears that the prices are for renting the books instead. I might be misunderstanding the options available. Since I already have a textbook rental, I can’t scratch the code off. I also checked Chegg but came up empty. I’m trying to keep costs down, so I’m wondering if this is even worth pursuing. Any advice would be appreciated!

One Reply to “Purchasing e-access codes?”

  1. It sounds like you’re in a bit of a tricky situation! If you’re looking to purchase just the e-access code without the physical textbook, it can sometimes be hard to find on publisher websites, as they often bundle the access code with a book rental or purchase.

    Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Contact Oxford University Press Support: They should be able to clarify if you can buy just the access code and guide you through the process.

    2. Check Your Course Resources: Sometimes, professors have specific platforms or resources where they provide access codes or alternatives for their courses.

    3. Look for Alternatives: If you can’t find the e-access code directly from Oxford, consider checking university bookstore platforms, or other second-hand book retailers, as they sometimes sell access codes separately.

    4. Ask Peers: If you’re in a class that requires the textbook, reach out to classmates. Someone might have an unused access code they can share or sell at a lower price.

    5. Price Comparison: If you decide to go ahead with the rental or purchase, shop around to compare prices. Sometimes different sites will have sales or student discounts.

If it feels like it’s going to be too much of a hassle, it might be worth considering whether you can get by without the e-access code or see if there are library resources that could help. Good luck!
