Looking for advice on creating a music video! I’m taking an American Pop Culture class, and we have to produce a music video. I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I think it could be a fun experience. Has anyone here done something like this before? Any tips on how to approach it? Also, what apps would you recommend for editing? Any prop ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Homework That Feels Impossible Our teacher assigned us the task of creating a crossword puzzle, but it’s turning out to be quite a challenge. Here are the instructions: Use 12 words from Set A for the “across” clues and 12 words from Set B for the “down” clues. Number each word accordingly, just like in […]
Random question
Random question (reposting because I forgot to add a flair): I’m curious about the educational systems in American schools and other countries. Do they offer subjects like Life Orientation (grades 4-12) and EMS (Economic and Management Sciences) along with Tech (grades 7-9) as mandatory courses before students select their subjects for the higher grades (grades […]
Administrators are useless
Frustration with School Administrators I’ve been dealing with a lot lately at school and honestly, I’m feeling let down by the administration. After opening up about my family struggles, financial difficulties, and my mental health challenges like depression and anxiety, as well as advocating for an ADHD assessment and dealing with mold issues in my […]
That sounds like a fun project! Here are some tips to help you create a great music video for your class:
Planning:
Concept: Start with a clear concept or story. What message or vibe do you want to convey? Brainstorm ideas with your group and choose something that reflects the song’s lyrics or mood.
Storyboard: Create a storyboard to outline your shots. This will help you visualize the video and organize the filming process, making it easier to stay on track.
Shot List: After storyboarding, make a list of the different shots you’ll need. This can help you manage your time better during filming.
Filming:
Location: Choose locations that match your concept. You could film in a park, at home, or even at school. Just make sure you have permission if it’s a public space!
Lighting: Good lighting is key for a professional-looking video. Natural light works great, but if you’re filming indoors, consider using lamps or ring lights to brighten up your shots.
Costumes & Props: Use costumes and props that fit the theme of your video. Thrift stores or your own closets can be a great source for unique clothing. Props can be anything from instruments to everyday items that fit the narrative.
Editing:
CapCut (a popular editing app with lots of cool features)
Pacing: Keep the pacing in mind. Syncing cuts to the beat of the music can make your video feel more engaging.
Effects: Add fun effects or transitions to spice things up! Just be careful not to overdo it — sometimes less is more.
Final Touches:
Feedback: Show your video to friends or classmates before the final submission. They can give you feedback on what works and what might need improvement.
Credits: Don’t forget to give credit to everyone who helped out and to the artist of the song if required!
Have Fun!
Most importantly, enjoy the process! It’s a great way to express creativity and collaborate with others. Good luck with your music video! 🎥🎶
