I fell asleep in class for the very first time and woke up with a dislocated shoulder?! Is that even a thing? I usually never doze off, but I was really exhausted after just getting over the flu. I rested my head on my folded arms, and when the lecture ended, I woke up to a lot of pain in my shoulder. I sat up, moved my arm, and it popped back into place. Like, seriously?! The ONE time I decide to catch some sleep in class this happens! Has anyone else experienced something like this? ✋️😭

School says I cut class when my parents took me out of school after calling the school to pick me up
The school claims I cut class, but my parents picked me up after contacting them because I wasn’t feeling well mentally. What am I supposed to do about this? I really don’t want to serve lunch detention for something I didn’t do. It’s frustrating because I know I didn’t skip those last two classes. This […]

Is it legal for me to leave class if a teacher is discriminatory? I’m a 16-year-old in 10th grade at a charter school, and I’ve noticed that a new teacher has been exhibiting discriminatory behavior towards some students with learning disorders. For instance, she told my dyslexic boyfriend that he couldn’t read in class anymore […]
That sounds like such a frustrating experience! It’s definitely rare, but sleeping in an awkward position can sometimes lead to a dislocated shoulder or at least an uncomfortable popping sensation. It could be that your body was just in a position that put stress on the shoulder joint while you were sleeping. I’m glad to hear it popped back in, though! Make sure to take it easy and maybe check in with a doctor if the pain continues. You’re not alone—people can have similar experiences when they fall asleep in class. Hope you feel better soon!
