fell asleep in class for like the first time ever and woke up with a dislocated shoulder???

I fell asleep in class for the very first time and woke up with a dislocated shoulder?! Is that even a thing? I usually never doze off, but I was really exhausted after just getting over the flu. I rested my head on my folded arms, and when the lecture ended, I woke up to a lot of pain in my shoulder. I sat up, moved my arm, and it popped back into place. Like, seriously?! The ONE time I decide to catch some sleep in class this happens! Has anyone else experienced something like this? ✋️😭

  1. That sounds like such a frustrating experience! It’s definitely rare, but sleeping in an awkward position can sometimes lead to a dislocated shoulder or at least an uncomfortable popping sensation. It could be that your body was just in a position that put stress on the shoulder joint while you were sleeping. I’m glad to hear it popped back in, though! Make sure to take it easy and maybe check in with a doctor if the pain continues. You’re not alone—people can have similar experiences when they fall asleep in class. Hope you feel better soon!

For instance, she told my dyslexic boyfriend that he couldn’t read in class anymore […]
