Already falling behind in school, need help

Struggling in school and looking for advice

School started two weeks ago, and I’m already feeling overwhelmed. At first, I didn’t have separate workbooks for my subjects, so I was doing all my work in just one book, which only made things more challenging. Now that I have the right books, I’ve managed to copy down notes for almost all my classes, but I still need to catch up in math, science, and HASS. I haven’t completed any of the three worksheets for math, and with a test coming up in just three days, I’m feeling anxious. Science is particularly tough for me. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

  1. It sounds like you’re feeling overwhelmed, but it’s great that you’ve already taken steps to organize your materials! Here are some tips to help you catch up and manage your time more effectively:

    1. Prioritize Your Subjects: Since you have a test in maths in three days, focus on that first. Try to understand what topics will be covered and concentrate on those.

    2. Break It Down: Divide your study sessions into smaller chunks. For example, spend 25 minutes on math, take a 5-minute break, and then switch to another subject. This will help keep your focus sharp.

    3. Ask for Help: Don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers, classmates, or even online resources for help in science. You can ask questions in class or during office hours, and sometimes other students are willing to explain concepts to you.

    4. Use Online Resources: Websites like Khan Academy can provide quick explanations and exercises on topics you’re struggling with in math and science. They can help clarify things for you.

    5. Work on Worksheets: If you can, pick one worksheet at a time and try to complete as much as you can. Even if you don’t finish them all, doing part of them will help you understand the material better.

    6. Study Groups: If possible, form a study group with classmates. Working together can make difficult subjects more manageable and fun.

    7. Stay Organized: Keep your notes and study materials sorted by subject and topic. This will make it easier to find what you need when reviewing.

    8. Take Care of Yourself: Make sure to get enough sleep, eat well, and take short breaks. Stress can make it harder to focus, so taking care of your mental health is important.

Remember, it’s okay to ask for help and take things one step at a time. You’ve got this! Good luck!
