Am I wrong for doing this?

Am I out of line for this?

In PE, I tend to sit out to review my notes, complete assignments, and tackle other coursework for my classes. I participate in the warm-ups, but when it’s time for the 30-minute walk, I choose not to join in. I can walk for more than 30 minutes without a problem; I just find it boring. Instead, I prefer to sit behind the bleachers and focus on my schoolwork.

Overall, I have solid grades, with 80s and 90s in all my classes, except for biology where I’m currently at a 78.

  1. It’s understandable that you want to prioritize your academics, especially since you’re doing well in most of your classes! However, PE is also an important part of your education, not just for physical health but for developing teamwork, social skills, and stress relief. If you find the walking boring, maybe you could talk to your teacher about alternative activities or suggest options that could make it more engaging for you. It’s good to balance your schoolwork with physical activity, so finding a way to incorporate both could be beneficial in the long run. Ultimately, it’s about finding a balance that allows you to meet your academic goals while still participating in PE.

My Teacher’s Unusual Approach In high school, I had a trigonometry teacher who reminded me a lot of Judge Judy—she had the same fiery temperament and sharp attitude, and even bore a resemblance to her. To give you an idea of her abrasive personality, there was a day during a test review when I was […]
